A Private Prayer Retreat
Get Alone With God!

We believe in Jesus' invitation to his busy disciples to "come apart with me and rest awhile." Someone has said, "If you don't want to fall apart, you need to get apart." Getting alone with God for 24 hours can be intimidating the first time out. For that reason we have prepared an extensive prayer training workbook to guide you on your solo journey with God. You can pick one up at the church office. It's free!

Subsidized Cost:
Whitehall Camp is providing a special rate for private prayer retreats for our church family. In addition our church is providing a $10 voucher discount. Your cost is just $20.00 for overnight lodging. Go with a friend and split the cost and it is just $10.00 each. We are offering a $15 voucher for any college student who attends our church. That makes the cost even more attractive -- that is just $15 for a room overnight.

Accommodations are lovely motel style with double beds, bath and shower. Adjacent to the rooms is a large kitchen to prepare meals or snacks, and a large meeting room with a wood burning stove, overlooking a lake and hills below.

Learning To Pray
Most people have never done an extended time of prayer such as a prayer retreat. For first timers even the suggestion can be intimidating. We seek to minister to the novice pray-er. Our goal is to coach you into spending intimate time alone with God.

Training Manual & Workbook
We will provide an Alone With God training manual to guide you each step of your prayer day, it includes a workbook and exercises that help you pray.

Silent Retreat
This is designed to be a silent retreat, that is, even if you go with a friend, your attitudes should be to get alone with God.

This is my personal style for an ordered and disciplined time of extended prayer. There will be some who find it difficult or unrewarding to be so disciplined. In that case you need to develop your own style. Just be sure that it keeps you praying.
