GCAC Worship Arts Ministries
Purpose

“Our goal is to glorify God by striving for excellence as lead worshippers, keeping God as the center and focus of our worship. We are also striving to develop our God given gifts to their fullest potential so that we can better lead others to His throne. This is how we give God our best offering. ”

Worship Arts Ministry Teams Purpose
We believe that the most important responsibility of any worship team is to lead the congregation in true worship. There are many things that go on behind the scenes to make this happen. True worship cannot happen if people are distracted by “things” during the worship time. “Things” as we call them, we define as the devils attempts to keep us from drawing near to God in worship. “Things” can come in the appearance of an out of tune guitar or a heart out of tune with God, a wrong power point slide, sound feedback, some one dressed inappropriately, or worship teams (or leaders) singing the wrong words or notes. These are an example of some of the ways in which the devil tries to keep our minds off of God during a worship service. Some of these “things” are easy to fix, others will only be fixed over time. The Music Leadership Team members developed a goal for the Worship Arts Program, a platform dress code, a ministry team application, and an attendance policy. They have done these things to try and eliminate as many hindrances to worship as possible, freeing us to give God our best offering.
Our goal is to strive for excellence for God’s glory, for this is what He deserves, and nothing less. Now this is not a goal that is going to be obtained over night, it is a gradual goal that comes over time. The worship teams are striving to improve what they are doing, so that they can lead by giving their personal best, both musically and spiritually, as an offering in worship.
