Day 16 - Confidence in God

Scripture:
"But Jesus said to them, "They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat." - Matthew 14:16

Contained in this story is a snapshot of the kind of attitude of faith and confidence in God that Jesus exhibited in on a daily basis. His desire was to bring his disciples up to that same level of faith and confidence in God.

The situation in the natural was impossible. The disciples approached the impossible situation from an attitude of practicality and reason. "...His disciples came to Him saying, ‘This is a deserted place, and the hour is late, Send the multitudes away, that they may go and buy themselves food’. " But the Lord had a more challenging idea, one that would take a great deal of faith. "You give them something to eat."

The disciples were trapped in a limitation mindset. They saw limitation as something they needed to cooperate with rather than a hurdle over. Jesus wanted them to see that they could leap over it with divine energy, confident faith and believing prayer.

We need to approach our impossible obstacles in the same manner. Through divine energy we can accomplish impossible task. With confident faith that God is for us we will not coward under impossible circumstance. And with the help of believing prayer we shall be able to remove mountains. (Mark 11:23)

Let us examine ourselves today. Are we embracing the mind of Christ (a mind that is full of faith and confidence in God) or are we more secure with logic, reason and practicality?
