Day 3 - A Godly Man

Scripture:
"Vindicate me, O Lord, for I have walked in my integrity." Psalms 26:1

The entire twenty sixth chapter of Psalms gives us a strong and healthy example of a good and godly man. Let me share with you a few things I have discovered about him.

  • He walks in his integrity. (v. 1)
  • He is comfortable with inviting the Lord to examine his heart. (v 2)
  • He is not afraid of having his motives tested by the Lord (v 2)
  • He is willing to have his mind and heart tried. (v 2)
  • He also keeps his mind occupied upon the Lord’s loving kindness (v 3)
  • He is faithful to walk in truth. He is a man of the Word. (v 3)
  • He is selective about whom he associates. (v 4)
  • He has nothing to do with idolaters, hypocrites, or evil and wicked doer. (v 4-5)
  • He keeps his hand out of mischief and quickly repents when he fails (v 6)
  • His lips are filled with verbal expressions of praise and thanksgiving (v 7)
  • He loves the house of God. He is habitually found in church. (v 8)
  • He prays for the mercy and fairness of God to be discharged on his behalf. (v 9-10)
  • He is spiritually sure footed. He is steadfast, faithful, stable and consistent. (v 12)
  • He is eager to testify of God’s goodness and faithfully blesses the Lord when in the house of God. (v 12)
