Day 8 - Battle Fatigue

Scripture:
To him who overcomes..." - Revelation 2:7

We face challenges everyday in a multitude of area. A battle is raging in our mental, physical, moral and spiritual life. How are we doing?

Our mental health can be improved by our mental health.... "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine." Our moral life can also affect our physical. Our physical life can have an adverse effect upon our spiritual life. Our mental well being and also influence our moral health.

No matter how you slice it we are in a battle every day of our lives. Unfortunately in some of these areas we are losing the battle, especially in the areas where we are receiving the greatest bombardment. How do we respond? Are we winning or are we through weariness yielding?

Understandably we need help. Often we need to be rescued. We have the Holy Spirit working within, Jesus interceding above, the church ministering along side, and a godly shepherd who watches over our soul, yet so many of us are failing. Of the four mentioned sources of strength only two of them are capable of failure. The church and our overseeing shepherd. Either the church and our shepherd fail to come along side to intercede, counsel, exhort, comfort and edify or we fail to commit and submit ourselves to one another and godly oversight. Thus we find ourselves failing miserably.

Even in the natural battle field battles are not fought and won alone. We watch one another. A soldier is taught to fight. But he is also trained to obey his leaders, and defend his comrades.

Are you experiencing failure and defeat in any given area of your life? Do you feel like you have fought it all alone? Have you felt like giving up? You have been give the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ your high priest but are you in proper relationship with the body of Christ and submitted to divine spiritual authority? Failure in any of these four areas can spell disaster.

Examine these four areas. How is your relationship with the Holy Spirit? Have you offered up your confession before your high priest? Are you having a healthy exchange with the church? And are you submitted to a godly pastor? Get these in order and the battle might be won more than lost.
