"The Lord longs to be gracious to you."
What a wonderful truth to wrap our arms around! God longs to be gracious to us. That is a promise from our Heavenly Father.
It is always true, and never untrue even for a moment.
Yet, most of us fail to grasp it. We fall short of embracing it. We doubt it. We don't feel like it is true and therefore we
throw away our confidence.
All it takes is a delay in God answering our prayer and jump to the conclusion that He does not care or
does not want to bless us. Hogwash! GOD ALWAYS WANTS TO BLESS YOU. You are his child.
Satan does not want us to believe that. He attempts to hinder us from grasping that eternal truth for he knows that when we
really embrace it we will be unshakable, unmoveable, and always abounding in the Lord.
All of us would do well to memorize verses like this that affirm God's eternal truth and absolute purpose toward us.
This is our sheild of faith. It should surround us above, beneath, behind and before.
A few weeks ago I shared with our congregation the 8-sided shield that Romans used to protect themselves in battle. It covered them
in front, in back, and above. God has given us a shield like that. Believing God's promises and affirming them set that shield in place.
How's your shield? What are you believing about your Heavenly Father that keeps you safe?
