Psalm 14 - NKJV
1 The fool has said in his heart,
“There is no God.”
They are corrupt,
They have done abominable works,
There is none who does good.
2 The LORD looks down from heaven upon the children of men,
To see if there are any who understand, who seek God.
3 They have all turned aside,
They have together become corrupt;
There is none who does good,
No, not one.
4 Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge,
Who eat up my people as they eat bread,
And do not call on the LORD?
5 There they are in great fear,
For God is with the generation of the righteous.
6 You shame the counsel of the poor,
But the LORD is his refuge.
7 Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion!
When the LORD restores the fortunes of his people, (NIV)
When the LORD brings back the captivity of His people,
Let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad.

Restore Our Fortunes!
I don't often like the NIV translations/paraphrase, but in this case it helps.
"Restore our fortunes" is a concept that is often repeated in the Psalms and in Scripture in general.
We have been ripped off of our true inheritance. God never intended for us to be paupers or to live a life of being raped and pillaged by the enemy of
our souls. But it happens. We give a place to the devil and he takes advantage of us to reek havoc. He invades our lives because he knows he cannot
destroy our souls. His plan is to steal, kill, and destroy what God has given to us.
"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."
- John 10:10
God is still on the throne and you are still his child. Do not fear when the enemy comes in like a flood. (Isaiah 59:19) The Lord will lift up his standard against him.
He promises you that "No weapon that is formed against you will prosper and every mouth that rises up against you in judgement"
(the accuser does that daily) the Lord will condemn. THIS IS YOUR INHERITANCE!
Isaiah 54:17
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
Joel 2:25
And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you."
God will bind the strong man and reverse the roles. He does this through the weapons of our warfare. He wants us to be part of this sacking of the enemy. So, stand up and fight. Lift the sword of the Word and strike back!
It is your heritage!
Matthew 12:29
Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house."
