Psalm 32

1 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered.

2 Blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit.

The Blessed Man

David seems to be off the distress band wagon. This is NOT a distress Psalm. It's a Psalm of forgiveness and restoration second only to Psalm 51.

We have a right to sing (vs13) and be glad. "Happy" or "blessed" is the man who -- NO, it's not about earthly health, wealth or possessions -- "Happy is the man whose sin is forgiven and covered!" Double happy (vs2) is the man to whom God will not impute (count up, register, record, store up, inventory, calculate, multiply, add) against him. In other words, "Happy is the man whose slate is clean, whose record is expunged, whose guilt is taken away, whose accounts are settled, "paid in full".

That's you, believer friend. You are that man. You are that woman. You are that child to whom God is merciful, gracious, full of compassion, and always forgiving.

What God did with my sin! 1-10 Rejoice and be glad!

But, as always, David is not into easy-believism, or the idea of sinning so grace may Abound. Because of God's great mercy and abundant grace he also knows that he Needs to "confess" his sins. God doesn't need the confession - he knows it already (Psalm 90:8) We need to confess. We need to examine our own hearts. We need to Expose our failures, sins, and foibles - for our own conscious sake. They are not Imputed against us, but we need to clean the wound of our sins by willingly exposing them to God.'

Read v. 3-6

"I feel bad, I walk in heaviness, I am miserable, even sick in heart and body when I keep silent about my sins. Therefore, I will acknowledge, I will confess, I will not cover up my sin."

Everyone who is godly will do this - daily. Have you acknowledged, uncovered, and Confessed your sin today.

There is a wonderful freedom, joy and gladness when we start and end the day clean.
