Let the Word of Christ Dwell in You
Ephesians 5:19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Prioritize Your Life Around God's Word
As we continue to explore the deep truths of God's Word we begin preaching through the Book of First John in 2008 it is important that we make God's Word a regular and systematic part of our lives. Paul urged the emotional roller coaster Ephesians to anchor themselves to the Rock that cannot move so they would be able to stand in the evil day. That Rock is Christ but the tether line to him is His Word.

Daily Devotional Guides
A Daily Devotional on The Names of Christ is available January 15, 2008 on our church web site along with options for many other devotional guides that lead you to a closer walk with God. In 2007 we added Musings in the Psalms , and in 2008 we are writing Musings in Isaiah. . Throughout the year we will offer devotional guides online to assist you in maintaining a consistent Christian walk. Without the word of God in your heart you are like a man who doesn't take a bath, or never looks in the mirror, or who lives on junk food. The word of God washes us, reflects what we are really like, convicts us of sin, speaks to us the words of Jesus, and feeds us with the finest of food - manna from heaven. Beside the devotionals we offer there are hundreds of good Christian web sites offering devotions by a myriad of authors.

Through the Bible in 2008
There are many ways to read the Bible through in a year. We offer an interesting and unique system of reading the Scriptures, so that you don't easily get discouraged. We begin with the New Testament in 100 days. That means by the end of March, you will have read all of the New Testament. Then the Old Testament is divided logically by topics. Pick up a copy of the Bible reading schedule in the narthex, church office, or online. Another great way to encourage your Bible reading is to do it together with others and track your progress on a Bible Tree, each leaf represents a book of the Bible read. There are a total of 66 books.

Meditate & Memorize
God's promises in the Bible are not to be merely appreciated in passing reference. They are to be ingested and digested. They need to become a part of us. That can only happen as we make them part of our thought life. We do that by memorizing Scripture. We have listed online about 200 promises of God that would be good to memorize and add to your weekly spiritual diet. You probably cannot memorize 200 verses, but maybe two verses will make a difference in how you trust God. Start small and grow tall in the Lord.

Small Group Fellowships
Most of us leave high school or college and leave off the process of ongoing study. When it comes to the things of God we need to continue to study the deep truths of God's word. We need to search the Scriptures to make sure what is preached is so. We need to sharpen one another as iron sharpens iron by challenging discussion of Scriptural themes. The best way to do that is to get into a small group that weekly studies the Bible together.

Check out our church offerings during the Adult Sunday School hour and weekday small group opportunities. There are other people just like you need to make new friends and together grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
