Walk Thru The Bible
Genesis 25-50

Genesis - The word means "beginnings."  Everything begins here -  the
creation, the first man, the first sin, the first birth, the first
death, first marriage, etc.  As you read through the stories of the
"beginnings" make note of the "firsts"  Genesis is the foundation for
the rest of the bible.  Its characters and stories will be refered to
throughout the rest of the bible.

Genesis has many wonderful stories and characters to learn from. It
also contains the first promises of God to his people.  Be looking for
"promises" that God gives to his people.  You might want to mark them
with a yellow highlighter to make them forever stand out.

Sunday -    Make-up day. If you missed any reading or if you only read
three chapters per day make up for lost time by reading for an hour on
the Lord's Day.

Children's Bible Reading

It is not easy for a child to read through the Bible nor to sit and
listen to long passages being read. We recommend that if you have
children in your home that you read daily one story from Ken Taylor's
"The Book."  Ken Taylor is the translator of the Living Bible.  He did
that while commuting by train to and from work so that his children
would understand the Scriptures.

History is an amazing thing.

The tower of Babel was the foundation of the present Iraq nation and
was located at the sight of ancient Babylon. Sadaam Hussain is intent
on rebuilding the greatness of that wicked city.

The sons of Noah spread out across the earth to become the forefathers
of all nations. But it is not true that the curse called upon Noah's
grandson Caanan was that he was to be the father of black people.
There is no evidence that he was black. (Genesis 9:25)

The sins of the parents are visited upon the children. Ishmael became
the father of the Arabs who according the prophecy of Gen 16 became a
people of the sword.  Esau became the father of the Edomites who
intermarried with non-Jewish women and became half Jews.  Out of his
line comes Herod and his wicked sons. (Gen 36:8)
